Dhaka--- New currency notes of Tk 100 denomination, imprinted on paper with the portrait of father of the nation, will appear within March 15.

The Tk 10 polymer notes, floated as samples on December 14 last year, will also be released by the same time, Bangladesh Bank officials said yesterday (Tuesday).

The consignment of 50 million polymer notes of Tk 10 denomination has already arrived and being sent to the central bank branches across the country to circulate simultaneously.

Samples were released from the counter of the BB Motijheel office. But the new notes disappeared from the market as all were kept in hands of individuals as souvenirs.

This time the central bank will take up measures to reach the new notes all over the country through commercial banks.
